Spring is off to a great start here in our region. The last numbers from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) point to a great year for Real Estate in the Puget Sound.
Across the U.S., pending home sales rose in January to the highest levels in 18 months, due to the slightly increasing credit conditions and higher employment rates. Locally, these factors along with a very mild winter, are fueling home buying activity in our region. The NWMLS reports that pending sales are back to the record levels of 2006, despite the low inventory. Buyers are advised to move quickly on making an offer on a home because the homes are selling fast and often with multiple offers.
Sellers on the fence about listing their home should consider how they can take advantage of this hot market. Most homes are selling within 30 days after they are listed. By listing now, sellers have the spring and summer to find their next home.
